I love low tide. The calm waves, shallow warm water, and freshly exposed acres of tidal flats. With each retreat, newly shifted sands give up the detritus of hundreds of years of history. Little boats, buoys, and lobster traps are scattered about, capturing the glinting sunlight off remaining puddles and wet rocks.
