The inspiration for this painting came from an Instagram post I created in April of 2018. It was on a bike after work riding to the train, when the sun was still setting early, and I saw a puddle where I had been hoping to see one. The lights were on in the window of the “Marlboro Market,” and everything was reflecting nicely off the wet road. When I take these photos, I rarely know what I’m capturing. I have my phone upside down and can’t really see the screen. I just point and click as much as I can, hoping for the best. Afterward, I look through the images, adjust them a bit, and if I post them to Instagram, I also edit with those filters. Usually Hefe. Even if only a little. It’s just such a great filter!
